Suboptimal management of inorganic and hazardous/toxic waste (B3) in Sukamakmur Village, Sukakarya District, Bekasi Regency, West Java, has led to various detrimental environmental issues, including pollution, health risks, and flooding. This article discusses community empowerment efforts in Sukamakmur Village through an inorganic and hazardous waste management program, which serves as an eco-friendly solution that simultaneously generates economic value. The method employed involves establishing a waste bank (bank sampah) to collect inorganic and hazardous waste, which is then gathered by officers and sold to waste collectors to be weighed and monetized. Through a community empowerment program facilitated by KKN (Student Community Service) Group 3 from the Haji Agus Salim Islamic College (STAIHAS) Cikarang in Sukamakmur Village, public socialization and the construction of the waste bank were carried out, alongside guidance on how to manage and operate this inorganic and hazardous waste bank program. Activities included providing education, hands-on construction of the waste bank, and direct counseling to the community to encourage active participation. The results of this initiative show an increase in community awareness regarding the importance of waste management, as well as the successful creation of a waste collection facility (waste bank) that serves as a mechanism for both waste reduction and local economic development. This program is expected to bring a positive, transformative impact, fostering environmental stewardship and improving the welfare of the local community.
