Abstract

This study aims to examine the momentum of National Farmers Day in raising public awareness of the importance of the agricultural sector as a primary pillar of life and national food security. This study employed research methods implemented through the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection processes. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of farmers in Sukamurni Village who participated in agricultural training at the Sukamurni Village Hall, with resource persons from the Bekasi Regency Agriculture Office.
The results indicate that the Farmers Day program in Sukamurni Village is not merely a ceremonial activity, but also an educational tool that facilitates farmer capacity building through sustainable agriculture training, agricultural product exhibitions, and outreach on local food diversification. Collaboration between the Agriculture Office and the Farmers' Group (Gapoktan) plays a crucial role in strengthening farmers' capabilities, expanding access to technology and markets, and building collective awareness of the importance of food self- sufficiency. Thus, the implementation of the Farmers' Day program in
Sukamurni Village has been proven to significantly contribute to strengthening community-based food security.
