Abstract
This study investigates the role of the Field Experience Program (PPLK) in developing and enhancing the professional competence of teachers at MA Al Ishlah. Teacher professional competence encompasses subject mastery, instructional design, classroom management, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning contexts. PPLK provides pre-service teachers with a valuable hands-on learning experience under the supervision of seasoned mentors, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world teaching practice.
This research utilizes a qualitative descriptive approach, gathering data through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The participants consist of PPLK students, supervising teachers, and school administrators at MA Al Ishlah. The collected data were analyzed to identify trends and insights regarding the impact of PPLK on different aspects of teacher competence. Special attention is given to the role of reflective practice and mentorship in enhancing instructional skills and professional decision-making.
The findings reveal that PPLK plays a critical role in improving teaching efficacy by providing opportunities for experiential learning and immediate feedback. Pre-service teachers reported notable improvements in pedagogical knowledge, lesson planning, and classroom interaction management. Furthermore, the program fosters problem-solving skills, adaptability, and confidence, which are essential for addressing real-world educational challenges.
