The first and foremost source of Sharia law is the Al-Qur'an, which originates from the revelation of Allah. The position of the Al-Qur'an as a hujjah (legal proof) is unquestionable, as there are numerous arguments indicating that the Al-Qur'an is the primary source of Sharia law before utilizing other legal sources. Allah certainly revealed the Al-Qur'an with specific goals, benefits, or functions. The Al-Qur'an is also the main source of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), aiming to provide ease and benefit for mankind. The Al-Qur'an is the foundational basis of the Islamic legal system, serving as a guideline in regulating individual and social life. This research was conducted due to the importance of understanding the role of the Al-Qur'an as a primary legal source that underlies the development of legal principles in Islam, concerning both ibadah (worship) and muamalah (social transactions). The purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of how the Al-Qur'an serves as the primary source of law in the Islamic legal system and how it is applied in the modern era. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach, which includes the analysis of Al-Qur'an verses, interpretations from scholars, and studies of documents related to Islamic law. The results show that the Al-Qur'an not only provides universal legal principles but also offers an interpretation mechanism through ijtihad (independent reasoning) as well as adaptation to social and cultural contexts. This paper utilizes a literature review research method with the aim of providing insight into the position of the Al-Qur'an as a source of Sharia law
